The Tolas organization is a non-governmental organization. We are working hard to bring people together and to improve society and the community. When individuals in a neighbourhood feel secure and confident in themselves and their families, they can be more productive

Community Cohesion
At the heart of a safe and robust community is social cohesion. It must be provided locally through the development of solid community networks based on principles of trust and respect for local differences and fostering a sense of belonging and self-assurance in locals.

Benefits

  • The ability for persons from varied ethnic, cultural, and religious backgrounds to live and work together in peace is just one of the several benefits associated with constructing cohesive communities.
  • Traditionally, social cohesion has been seen as a process that is initiated from the top down. The state or governing body decides how to run the country and then implements policies designed to promote cohesiveness between groups of people who have different backgrounds. For this system to work effectively, it requires that individuals and groups be willing to cooperate with each other.
  • Cohesive communities are more likely to solve similar challenges, provide mutual support, and collaborate for a brighter future.

How to promote community cohesion
Community cohesion aims to repair fractures, remove barriers, and promote kind interactions between groups. Community cohesion is closely linked to integration. It seeks to establish environments where people feel at ease mixing and interacting with others, particularly those from different racial backgrounds or different faith beliefs.
Building cooperation across neighbourhoods is a crucial step toward improving people's well-being and their capacity to realize their potential, whatever your local circumstances. A cohesive community is one that residents will want to call home and invest in.
